Props
The use of props in ''Lardington Lark'' is extensive. A suggested list is included with the materials we send when the show is being produced.
Costumes
''Lardington Lark'' calls for modern day prep school attire. Maroon and white (or other school colors) uniforms for the students. Sandy, Rachel and Julie have their hair done up in a fashion that identifies them as a trio. Mr. Mathis wears a bowtie. Mr. Lasker has clothes that indicate he is a janitor/maintenance man. Officer Anderson wears a police uniform.
Sound
Some special sound effects are called for in ''Lardington Lark''. A list is provided below for those who may be interested in mounting a production. A CD is available of these sounds for those who'd prefer not to create their own versions.
- They (the Songwriting class) are interrupted by the loud eerie sound of a voice pitched high as a banshee's, scaling down almost a full octave in half tones .... Then the voice is joined by other voices half-singing, half-screeching ''Maggie, Maaggiiee! Go away. Go away, Maggie, we're better off without you. Go away!''
- Mr. V is listening to happy-go-lucky music playing over the speakers.
- They are suddenly interrupted by a loud screech over the sound system caused by feedback from the mike.
- Suddenly Terry's hair stands on end as she hears a short, high-pitched crazy laugh coming at her from the bushes.
- The (Songwriting) class is suddenly interrupted by a loud explosion coming from outside the building, some distance away, followed by the ear-shattering high-pitched wails of three or four alarms.
- Suddenly they (Derek and Terry) hear a brief piercing noise coming from an alarm in Lasker's pocket.
- He suddenly jerks the volume control on the sound board, causing microphone feedback .... He puts on a set of screeching noises.
